Brooklyn Loons Rhubarb Simple Syrup

Fascinating concoction, composed primarily of rhubarb, rhubarb, and what appears to be a trace amount of vanilla, displays an unexpectedly balanced flavor profile—tart, aromatic, and slightly effervescent. That it was formulated by a domestic feline suggests either an improbable leap in interspecies intelligence... or that I am once again trapped in a holodeck malfunction.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped Rhubarb

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. In a small sauce pan add rhubarb, water, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium low heat.

  2. Strain rhubarb from the mixture and add the vanilla.

  3. Will keep for one week in the refidgerator.
