Flowers for Algernon

A bubbly botanical floral cocktail with hibiscus, violet, and elder flower.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Empress 1908 gin

  • .5 oz elder flower liqueur

  • .5 oz crème de violet

  • .5 oz hibiscus simple syrup

  • 1 oz lemon juice

  • 3-4 cucumber rounds

  • 1 oz club soda

Garnish

  • hibiscus flower

Hardware

  • chilled coup glass

  • cocktail shaker

  • mudler

  • ice

How to make

  • Add cucumber rounds to cocktail shaker and muddle.

  • Add gin, elder flower liqueur, crème de violet, hibiscus syrup, and lemon juice to the cocktail shaker with ice.

  • Shake well, 10-12 seconds.

  • Double strain into a chilled coup glass.

  • Top with club soda.

  • Garnish with hibiscus flower.

  • Serve
